We sold our home in Burleigh Heads in June 2013 and decided before settling down to travel and see our wonderful country.
Marilyn was already selling Fifth Avenue Collection Jewellery at many festivals and special events and it was at one of these events we came across Artwerx Australia.
We had been looking for something for Eric to sell and had a strict criteria of
- Made in Australia
- Easy to pack and carry in our Pajero and restock
- Unique and different
We purchased a small wind spinner and approached Dani Smith about starting a business and obtaining an area in which we would be travelling. As we were in Taree it was easy to drive to Gosford and meet the owners. We were very impressed with Dani and so we started.
Our first stall was at The Brain Foundation Charity Day at Tamworth Racecourse in November 2013.
It was a lovely sunny day, but out of nowhere came the hail and drenching rain and we soon learnt that keeping cardboard boxes on the ground was not a good idea as they all fell to pieces.
We have learnt a lot since then and travelled to many interesting and fun places and along the way met some wonderful customers.
Our spinners are unique, in fact a large stainless steel one will feature in the historic St Lukes Church Toowoomba above the altar for the Toowoomba Festival of Flowers in September 2014.
Even though our main line is the Australian made Stainless Steel Wind Spinners, Artwerx imports coloured zinc coated steel spinners and associated products to cater for different tastes.
We look forward to meeting new and returning customers, please come and say hello when you see us in our familiar bright green gazebo.
